Boy Loses 75% of His Eyesight Because of This Small Object That You Probably Have At Home

19. November 2016 - By Felicia M. Kennedy

The problem is that laser pointers look so harmless, they’re fun to play with. We’d never let our kids play with a gun or a knife, but a laser pointer is just as dangerous, it’s just that we don’t think about how dangerous they really are as they look so innocuous.

The Tasmanian boy had laser burns on the back of both retinas. The damage cannot be reversed, and wearing glasses will not improve his vision.

Any lasers pointers over 5mW should be kept well away from children.

You really don’t want this to happen to your child!

Spread the word on the dangers of laser pointers and hopefully we can stop this terrible and pointless injury happening again.
